About what are some of the best hospitals to work for in Phoenix, AZ

What are some of the best hospitals to work for in Phoenix, AZ?
My wife and I are RNs with 2 years of ICU experience. She would like to work in a trauma ICU or a surgical ICU. I would like to work in a CTICU, CCU, or general ICU. Any info on pay rates, shift diffs, sign-on bonuses, and weekend diffs would be great as well. Thanks.

i can't give you any of the bonus info for other hospitals but i work for Banner Good Sam in trauma icu and i love it here. we are a magnet hospital (got the award in 05) and it's the best hospital i've worked in out of the 4 i've been employed by. right now for core staff (i'm not sure about registry or travelers) there is a 60.00/hr bonus for any extra shifts worked. starting pay is around 25/hr (not new grad) we are a 12 floor hospital with a 16 bed trauma icu, 16 bed ( i think) cvicu, and 32 bed med/surg/general icu. our trauma bay holds up to 5 patients. we do not admit pediatric patients unless they are over 100 pounds. we are a very busy hospital icu-wise due to us being in the heart of the city. we are the only banner owned level 1 hospital. other level 1 hospitals here in the valley are -John C. Lincoln (north campus-not deer valley) -Maricopa County medical center -St. Joseph's -Scottsdale Osborn here is the link for our hospital-hope it helps!! http://www.bannerhealth.com/Locations/Arizona/Banner+Good+Samaritan+Medical+Center/_Banner+Good+Samaritan+Medical+Center.htm

Good Samaritan (Good Sam for short) is a great hospital and it's part of the Banner Health System which is either the first or second biggest (I can't remember) employer of Arizona. Good Sam is one of the Level 1 trauma centers in Arizona also. http://www.bannerhealth.com/Locations/Arizona/Banner+Good+Samaritan+Medical+Center/About+Us/Good+Sam+Home.htm St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center (St. Joes) is another major hospital in Arizona. It is the also one of the level 1 trauma centers and was the very first hospital in Arizona. http://www.stjosephs-phx.org/stellent/websites/get_page_cache.asp?nodeId=5001548 I've got to throw in Maricopa Medical Center ("County") also because I work there in the pharmacy. It's part of the county government so it's got some great benefits. It's another level 1 trauma center and it has the Arizona Burn Center, which is the only one in Arizona. It serves as a regional burn center for parts of Utah and New Mexico as well. It also has the only Pediatric Emergency Department which is separated from the Adult Emergency Department in Arizona. http://www.mihs.org/ourfacility/index.html Good luck!

I can't tell you about the perks and what not, but depending on where in the valley you want to live there's Central Valley/Downtown: John C. Lincoln Hospital St. Lukes Good Sam Arizona Heart Institute Phx Children's Hospital On the west side there's: Walter O. Boswell Memorial and Del E. Webb Memorial, both operated by Sun Health which also operates several smaller specialized surgical/care facilities.

Yeah you also need a working permit if you want to work before the age 16 so you can either wait for the age 16 or you can get a working permit from your school or you can try this website that is built for teens http://economyhelp.blogspot.com you can find a like at the bottom also in the blog is tips for an interview that may become handy to you but the website its self is 100% free you wont have to pay anything nor give bank info or credit card info you dont need to give up any of that. its safe easy and fast cash just need to be 13 and up

My Friend and I are always reading this working plaque thing at a pizza place and it says that when you are fourteen years of age, you can get a working permit and start working there, but other than that I don't really know. I really hope this helped you!

What are some nice areas to live and/or work in, in Phoenix, AZ? Also what areas should be avoided?
We are planning a move to Phoenix, although we do not know a whole lot about what areas are good and what areas are to be avoided. Also if you can give some insight into the areas that have some cool things to do would be greatly appreciated.

That's a difficult question for Phoenix. There are so many neighborhoods that aren't ideal, but are surrounded by really nice neighborhoods. The only way to avoid that is to live in North Scottsdale or other upscale areas, but those are very pricey. The best thing to do would be to come out and check it out for yourself. The cheaper, more run down houses are going to have more people in your neighborhood who you wouldn't feel safe walking past at night..to put it mildly. I live in North Phoenix..my neighborhood is nice/newer but I am like 3 blocks from a trailer park and maybe 5 or so blocks the other way from a strip club and a bunch of dive bars so at the gas station by my house you can see some interesting people. I work in North Scottsdale, and there is nothing negative around there besides the ridiculous prices. You really just have to come check it out for yourself. And there is plenty of stuff to do all over the valley so no need to worry about that. Hope this helps..

In my opinion the best parts of town are: Anthem, Carefree Crossings, Tramonto, Sonoran Foothills, the northern parts of Scottsdale, the Desert Ridge area, and the area to the north of Paradise Valley Mall. All of these areas of numerous activities for people of all ages, such as museums (Pioneer Living History Museum, MIM, and others), shopping (Anthem Outlets, Desert Ridge, and others), and of course there's a fantastic water park located near I-17 and Pinnacle Peak Road called Wet 'n' Wild - http://wetnwildphoenix.com/ Try to avoid anywhere south of Bell Road in the general Phoenix area because the entire area is going downhill fast, that's not to say that there aren't "good pockets" it's just that some areas are better left unexplored.

About looking for someone to teach me tattoo work in the Phoenix/Mesa area

Looking for someone to teach me tattoo work in the Phoenix/Mesa area?
I am new at this and am looking for someone to work with me to show me the ins and outs of tattoos. I can't learn what I need to know on a video. I already have the skin/body to work on. I can send pictures of the few I have done to show I am serious about learning.

You need to go into local tattoo shops and see if anyone is looking for an apprentice. You shouldn't have that hard of a time finding someone to take you under thier wing. Good luck
